Despite living in one of the world’s wealthiest nations, a growing number of Americans experience food insecurity every year. According to a 2014 study by the USDA, over 14.3% of American families go hungry every year. That’s nearly 49 million people without access to enough food to meet their basic needs. Almost 16 million of those going hungry are children.
No child in this great nation should ever go hungry. That’s why Carla supports charities and organizations that help families gain access to good food and explore food and cooking through volunteerism and education.
